The Story of Make Lab
Make Lab is a participatory art and social practice that transforms creativity into a collective experience. Born from my playful practice as an artist and designer (angiestalker.com), it’s not just a space for making objects—it’s a space for building relationships, exchanging ideas, and nurturing community.
Make Lab grew out of my creative practice, which is rooted in play and guided by a desire to spark wonder, curiosity, and courage. I find joy in the process, as much as in the outcome, embracing imperfection and using creativity as a tool for problem-solving, self-expression, and connection.
When imagining Make Lab, I envisioned a space where I could expand my practice beyond the confines of a small studio—where I could freely tinker, test, and play. But I also wanted to create a space where I could share these tools, this mindset, and the joy of working with your hands with others. Make Lab is my creative methodology transformed into a communal hub—an environment where anyone can experience the joy and transformative power of making.
At its core, Make Lab exists to cultivate the conditions where creativity can flourish—for myself, for others, and for our community.
